Canned food and drink, secured on a pallet.
 
The pallet load is unusually high. It consists of more than 1000 cans. Therefore, the load is sensitive to sudden movements.
Hard fibre or plastic sheets normally separate each of the layers. On top of the load a framework is placed to aid the distribution of pressure.
Installations for empty cans typically have a load, over the press, which compresses and fixes over the first strap. Odd-numbered plates are levelled. Cross Strapping requires a change in direction of the pallet load to be rotated 90 °. This means that if the installation should be equipped with a turntable or another installation is needed for applying the second strap.
The strap is applied under high tension, and polyester has proven itself as ideal because of its excellent elasticity and failure load, especially in the long term.
