Car Wheels on a pallet, strapping and wrapping
 
We talk about wheels without tires. These consist of a disc and a rim. Laymen call it a rim. The specialists call it wheels. The buyers determine in detail how the wheels must be packaged, ie how the pallet load can be secured. Car manufacturers often supply the pallets to the wheel manufacturers.
These are usually wooden pallets with dimensions 1150 x 1130 mm. Recently steel pallets are also available (EWPS = European Wheel Pallet System). They are organized in a so-called pool and are recommended by the VDA (German Association of the automotive industry).
